Hearing
Airmen who do not pass the standard conversational hearing test may take a standard pure tone audiology exam, and if that doesn't work, an audiometric speech discrimination test may be taken. Failure of all three exams, an airman may still be eligible for certification with a Statement of Demonstrated Ability (SODA), or with certain restrictions.
